12. Powers and duties of prison officers
A prison officer on the staff of a borstal institution shall, in relation to the borstal institution and the inmates thereof, have the like powers, protections and duties as are conferred and imposed on him by the Prisons Act (Cap. 90) in relation to a prison and prisoners therein, and shall be subject to the like prohibitions and restrictions (and liable to the like punishment for breach thereof), and be subject to the like provisions as to discipline, as are applicable in the case of prisons and prisoners therein under that Act.Source: Kenya Law
