47. Inmate required as witness
(1)Whenever the presence of any inmate of a borstal institution is required by any court, such court may issue an order addressed to the superintendent requiring production before the court of the inmate in proper custody at the time and place named in the order, and the superintendent shall cause the inmate named in the order to be brought up as directed, and shall provide for his safe custody during his absence from the borstal institution.(2)Every such court may by endorsement on such order require the inmate to be again brought up at any time to which the matter may be adjourned.
