9. Names of building societies
(1)No building society shall be registered by a name which is identical with that of another building society previously incorporated or registered, or by a name which so nearly resembles it as to be likely to deceive, unless that other society is in course of being terminated or dissolved and consents to the registration.(2)The name of every building society shall end with the words "Building Society".(3)A building society shall not use any name or title other than its registered name.(4)The Registrar may, unless otherwise ordered by the Cabinet Secretary, refuse to register a building society by a name which in his opinion is calculated to mislead the public or to cause offence to any person or class of persons.
