17. Preservation of secrecy
(1)Except for the purpose of the performance of his duties or the exercise of his powers, the Governor, the Deputy Governor, any Director or any other officer or employee of the Bank shall not disclose any information which he has acquired in the performance of his duties or the exercise of his powers.(2)Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or to both in addition to any disciplinary action which may be taken by the Board.
