41. Responsibility of government in traditional and alternative medicine
The Government of Kenya shall—(a)recognize and integrate traditional and alternative medicine in a manner that complements the conventional healthcare system;(b)safeguard public health by ensuring that traditional and alternative medicinal products and practices meet stringent quality, safety, and efficacy standards;(c)promote the conservation of medicinal plant biodiversity and the sustainable use of resources, acknowledging the intrinsic value of traditional knowledge in health preservation; and(d)foster biodiversity conservation as a critical component of sustainable healthcare.
