29. Exemption of former public officers
(1)A former public officer may, upon making an application in writing, be exempted by the Commission from the provisions of section 27 and 28, on the grounds that—(a)the former public officer was not directly involved in decision making in the reporting entity;(b)the former public officer had no access to important policy information in the reporting entity; or(c)the former public officer possesses expertise that is rare in the public service.(2)The Commission shall, within thirty days from the date of the application, in writing, communicate the decision made to the former public officer who applied for the exemption.
