189. Energy conservation in factories and buildings

(1)The owner of a factory or building designated under section 188, shall conserve energy, audit and analyze energy consumption in his building in accordance with the standards, criteria, and procedures as prescribed by regulations.

(2)A person who fails to comply with this provision commits an offence and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term of not exceeding two years or to both.
