59. Qualifications for appointment as a Chairperson and member of the Board
(1)A person shall be qualified for appointment under section 58 as a Chairperson if the person is a holder of a degree recognized in Kenya in the fields of engineering, physical sciences, law, finance, economics or energy.(2)In addition to the qualifications listed in subsection (1), for appointment as member of the Board, the person must—(a)be a citizen of Kenya;(b)have had at least seven years' relevant professional experience;(c)be a member in good standing of the relevant professional association; and(d)meet the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution.(3)The Chairperson and members of the Board shall be appointed at different times so that the respective expiry dates of their terms of office shall fall at different times.
