31. Creation and management of public forests
(1)All public forests in Kenya are vested in the Service, subject to any rights of user in respect thereof, which by or under this Act or other written law, have been or are granted to any other person.(2)The Cabinet Secretary may, on the recommendation of the Board and after consultation with the National Land Commission declare through a Gazette notice any un-alienated public land or any land purchased or otherwise acquired by the Service to be a public forest.
