17. Irrigation development in counties
(1)Pursuant to section 14 of the Act, a County Government may by notice in the Gazette establish a County Irrigation Development Unit for the better carrying out of its functions with respect to irrigation development.(2)In establishing the County Irrigation Development Unit, a County Government shall take into account the following expertise or professionals in its composition—(a)engineers and technicians from the fields of irrigation agriculture, civil engineering or their equivalent in related fields; and(b)experts in the fields of survey and mapping or cartography, agriculture, socio-economics or their equivalent in related fields.
