15. Death gratuity

(1)Where a judge dies before attaining the qualifying service, the surviving spouse shall be paid a gratuity calculated as one month’s pensionable emolument for each year of service.

(2)Where a judge dies before attaining the qualifying service and is survived by more than one spouse, the gratuity payable under subsection (1) shall be shared equally among the surviving spouses.
