254. Prolongation of service
Any officer due to retire or who completes the term of the officer's commission, and any service member whose period of colour service expires, during a state of war, insurrection, hostilities or public emergency or at a time of active service, may be retained in the Defence Forces and the service prolonged for such further period as the Defence Council may determine.Source: Kenya Law
