89. Equity redemption
(1)Any rule of law, written or unwritten, entitling a chargee (chargee) to foreclose the equity of redemption in charged land is prohibited.(2)Upon commencement of this Act, a chargee shall not be entitled to enter into possession of the charged land or a charged lease or to receive the rents and profits of that land or lease by reason only that default has been made in the payment of the principal sum or of any interest or other periodic payment or of any part thereof or in the performance or observance of any agreement expressed or implied in the charge, other than in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
