178. Occupational health and safety.

(1)A provision of this Act and a right or entitlement conferred under a mineral right shall not operate to exempt a person from compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Cap. 236A) concerning the safety of workers and mine operations.

(2)In addition to provisions in subsection (1), the Cabinet Secretary shall make Regulations for safety and health of persons employed in mines, and the carrying on of prospecting or mining operations in safe, proper, sanitary and effectual manner.
