203. Offences relating to unauthorised possession of minerals

A person who is found in the possession of a mineral, contrary to the provisions of this Act or any other written law, commits an offence and liable on conviction to—

(a)imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months;

(b)a fine equivalent to the value of the mineral but not less than five hundred thousand shillings; or

(c)both, an imprisonment term and a fine.
