62. Maximum area of reconnaissance licence
(1)The maximum area covered by a reconnaissance licence shall be a block or any number of blocks not exceeding five thousand contiguous blocks each having a side in common with at least one block the subject of the application.(2)Notwithstanding the number of blocks that may be granted under subsection (1), nothing in this Act shall prevent the government from conducting any reconnaissance over the total land offshore area of Kenya or such lesser area as the Cabinet Secretary may approve.(3)A person or company may hold only one reconnaissance licence or such number of licences as the Cabinet Secretary shall prescribe in Regulations.
