98. Establishment of area community policing committees and other structures
(1)A police officer in charge of an area shall, in consultation with stakeholders, be responsible for and facilitate the establishment of area community policing committees and other administrative structures.(2)An area community policing committee shall, subject to subsection (3) consist of representatives of community policing forums in the area concerned elected for that purpose by such policing forums.(3)A station commander or administrative police post commander and the members elected by the community from time to time for that purpose shall be members of the area community policing committee concerned.(4)Where appropriate, both the administration police and the Kenya police shall establish joint committees or other structures.
