11. Aliens deprived of liberty

11. Aliens deprived of liberty

(1)Aliens deprived of liberty, shall be informed, without delay and in any case before they make any statement to the competent authorities, of their right to consular or diplomatic assistance, and to request that consular or diplomatic authorities be notified of their deprivation of liberty forthwith.

(2)Where consular assistance is not available, the alien will be entitled to legal aid and assistance in accordance with any written law.
