5. Powers of the Board
(1)The Board shall have all powers necessary for the proper performance of its functions under this Act.(2)Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the Board shall have power to —(a)control, supervise and administer its assets in such manner and for such purpose as best promotes the purpose for which the Board is established;(b)determine the provisions to be made for its capital and recurrent expenditure and for its reserves;(c)receive any grants, gifts, donations or endowments and make legitimate disbursements therefrom;(d)enter into association with other bodies or organizations within or outside Kenya as may be desirable or appropriate in furtherance of the purpose for which the Board is established;(e)open a banking account or banking accounts for the funds of the Board; and(f)invest any of its funds not immediately required for its purposes in the manner provided in section 33.
