39. Transition
(1)On the commencement of this Charter—(a)the members of the Council in office shall hold office for a term of not more than six months;(b)the members of the Council in office may make Statutes for the University;(c)the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellors of the University shall continue to discharge their responsibilities and exercise such powers as set out in their instrument of appointment;(d)all persons who were members of staff of the University shall be deemed to be members of staff of the University under this Charter; and(e)all the students of the University, who were pursuing degrees, diploma, certificate, and post degree programmes shall be awarded degrees, diploma, certificate, and post degree qualifications of the University under this Charter.
