8. Foster care placement at first instance

8. Foster care placement at first instance
(1)Pursuant to section 172(1) of the Act, any arrangements for the foster care placement of a child shall, in the first instance, be on the direct intervention of the Secretary or pursuant to an order of the Court.(2)Where an order for foster care placement is made by the Court under subrule (1), it shall, in the first instance, be home based and for a period not exceeding twelve months.(3)The period under subrule (2) may be extended for a further period not exceeding three years in aggregate.
