24. Staff of the Institute
(1)The staff of the Institute shall consist of research, academic, technical, administrative and support staff.(2)The Research and Academic staff shall consist of research, teaching, supervision, mentorship, and related responsibilities at the Institute.(3)The technical staff of the Institute shall consist of staff engaged in hospitals, clinics, laboratory, field instruction, workshops, extension and such similar environment in the research and teaching and service departments under the general direction of the respective heads of the departments, and as Board may, from time to time determine.(4)The administrative staff of the Institute shall consist of members of staff engaging in administrative services within the Institute as specified in the Statutes.(5)The support staff of the Institute shall consist of the staff engaged in general duties, as the Board may determine from time to time.(6)All members of staff of the Institute shall, subject to this Charter, be appointed in the manner and upon such terms and conditions of the service prescribed in their instrument of engagement.(7)In the case of a person seconded to the Institute from another institution, the Government, or any other public service, such person shall be engaged on terms and conditions agreed upon with the Board.(8)The members of staff of the Institute shall—(a)be subject to the general authority of the Vice Chancellor; and(b)be deemed to be employed in accordance with the Statutes or otherwise specifically provided by the Statutes or by the terms of a particular appointment.
