25. Research for human health

25. Research for human health

(1)The Institute shall conduct research related to human health including but not limited to—

(a)public health research;

(b)biomedical research;

(c)traditional and alternative medicine research;

(d)clinical, applied and social science research;

(e)biodefence research; and

(f)any other relevant fields related to the promotion, protection, and advancement of human health.

(2)The research specified under subparagraph (1) may be—

(a)program based;

(b)investigator initiated;

(c)collaborative or team based; or

(d)in any other manner as may be deemed necessary to address national priorities.

(3)The research shall be conducted in the manner as may be provided in the Statutes, Policies of the Institute and with due regard to global best practices.
