50. Payment of benefits of a member who dies in service

(1)If a member dies while in service, the balance in the member’s retirement savings account shall be paid—

(a)in favour of the dependants of that member; or

(b)in the absence of any dependants, to the executor or the administrator of the estate of that member.

(2)Notwithstanding subsection (1), the Board shall have the discretion to elect the most suitable mode of payment of the dependents’ pensions.
