5. Functions of the corporation

The main functions of the Institute shall be—

(a)to develop capacities in public research and analysis and assist the Government in the process of policy formulation and implementation;

(b)to develop adequate analysis and research programming in areas such as human resources, agriculture and rural development, trade and industry, public finance, money and finance and macro-economic modelling; and

(c)to establish a mechanism for close working relationships between, the Institute and other institutions interested in utilizing its policy output.
