17. Appointment of the Chief Executive Officer
(1)There shall be a Chief Executive Officer of the Council who shall be appointed by the Council through a competitive, fair and open recruitment process.(2)A person shall be qualified for appointment as a Chief Executive Officer if the person—(a)is a citizen of Kenya;(b)holds at least a postgraduate degree in education or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;(c)has at least ten years' experience at management level in matters related to education; and(d)meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
