19. Airworthiness – hang glider and paraglider

(1)A holder of an Authorisation conducting an operation using a hang glider or a paraglider must ensure that—

(a)each hang glider used for an Aerial work operation meets one of the following certification standards—

(i)a DHV Gutesiegel (Type Testing Centre) certification standard;

(ii)a British Hang Glider and Paraglider Association certification standard; or

(iii)the United States Hang Glider Manufacturers Association-HGMA certification standard;

(b)each paraglider used for Aerial work operation meets one of the following certification standards—

(i)a CEN/AFNOR certification standard;

(ii)a DHV Gutesiegel (Type Testing Centre) certification standard;

(iii)an LTF certification standard;

(iv)a European Norm (EN) certification standard; or

(v)an equivalent certification standard that is acceptable to the Authority.
