66. Maintenance support arrangements

(1)The owner shall demonstrate to the Authority that maintenance is carried out to a satisfactory standard.

(2)The owner may contract-out his maintenance in full or part to another company approved by the Authority.

(3)The owner remains responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft when maintenance is contracted out and must therefore be satisfied with the standards of airworthiness achieved by the contractor.

(4)The owner shall monitor the contractor’s response to the provisions of the maintenance agreement, employing such technical resources as are necessary to achieve this task.
